Champs Coffee

Our Coffee had its start at our Mountain called "El Fortin" located in the center of our hometown, Santa Ana in the Country of El Salvador; where our first and main plantation is located. We can proudly assure you that we are passionate about our whole process, starting with the plantation of our trees all the way to your morning cup of coffee. We strictly focus on every stage of our coffee production and preparation. We are proud to help and support our community, our coffee production provides many jobs to local people year after year. I would love to tell you more about our coffee, but the only last thing that I can tell you is to try a good cup of coffee, CHAMPS COFFEE.

Our Process

Planting

Processing the Cherries

Harvesting

A coffee bean is actually a seed, if the seed isn't processed it can be planted and grow into a tree. Planting often takes place during the wet season so the soil remains moist. Our product quality and consistency comes directly from our plantations

Harvesting

Processing the Cherries

Harvesting

It will take approximately 3 to 4 years for the newly planted coffee trees to bear fruit, the coffee cherry. There is typically one major harvest a year

Processing the Cherries

We process our coffee using the "wet method" This method removes the pulp from the coffee cherry after harvesting so the bean is dried with only the parchment skin left on.

Milling the Beans

Milling the Beans

Hulling machinery removes the parchment layer from wet-processed coffee. Hulling dry processed coffee refers to removing the entire dried husk of the dried cherry. At this point, the milled beans are called "green coffee"

Roasting

Milling the Beans

Milling the Beans

Roasting transforms green coffee into brown beans. Roasting machines maintain a temperature of 500 degrees Fahrenheit. The beans are kept moving throughout the entire process to keep them from burning.

Grinding

Milling the Beans

Grinding

A proper grind gets the most flavor in a cup of coffee. This doesn't mean that the finer the grind the better. Generally, the finer the grind, the more quickly the coffee should be prepared.
